New Business
Marketing
- Jason handed out a list of all the businesses he distributed buttons to, including most of Gallatin County and Big Sky.
- Discussed Holiday posters: artwork still in progress
- Jenna organized proclamations with both the County and City Commissions for National Drinking and Drugged Driving Prevention Month. KC McLaughlin assisted with the county commission presentation and Jenny Haubenreiser from MSU Health Promotion assisted with the proclamation to the city of Bozeman.
Other
- Jenna has organized a press conference for December 14th, 2009 to be attended by Bozeman and Belgrade PD chiefs, and representatives from MHP. It will be held 2:30 at Bozeman’s City Building and will be held in conjunction with Safe Kids, Safe Communities “Saved by the Belt” presentation. All local media have been invited.
- Discussion of doing some radio advertising for New Year Eve, perhaps using a myth. The group agreed that advertising on radio for New Year was a good idea.
- Brief discussion about having a special meeting on a special topic with a guest speaker. No decision made
- Bob Larson is willing to continue heading up the Super Bowl pizza box toppers campaign for the Task Force. He would like to consider putting fliers in grocery store bags at Van’s IGA and also post on sub-sandwich wrappers. “DUI you can’t afford it” Important to remind manager there will be a press release about their involvement. Tabled till next meeting
- There was a discussion about hiring an individual to help with get the DUI stats project up to date. Motion to approve by Bob to allot $400, second by Stephen. Motion not passed. There was an involved discussion that resulted in an agreement to table the topic until a better solution is found.
